I have a bachelor's degree in botany and a master's in biology from a previous life. Spent my 20s exploring nature. Life happened, got a job, raised a family, busy, busy. Forty years later, retired, recently certified as a California naturalist (through the Sugarloaf Ridge State Park program), and enjoying exploring nature again in my 60s. I love the diversity of life that surrounds us here in Northern CA and have a particular fondness for lichens and fungi.
