My background is as a conservation biologist, a science teacher, teacher PD provider and non-profit manager. I love to explore and discovered at an early age that I have an aptitude for identifying, fish and birds and other vertebrates. I have am learning to identify native and invasive woody plants in New England, other wise I am not much of a botanist. I am fascinated by plants and welcome help on ID when I see something new or prolific.

My strengths identifying tropical and subtropical fish, specifically Atlantic and Caribbean species, with a good handle on Hawaiian and tropical pacific species as well- I hold expert status is REEF. I have a good handle on Eastern US bird ID- specifically wading birds, ducks, and woodland songbirds. Raptor ID skill elude me. I know the basic shorebirds, but wouldn't get into a sand piper or plover ID battle.
