My interest in biodiversity emerged during my early years serving as an educator in public schools of the urban core of Los Angeles, where I continue to serve as an elementary school principal. I am a birder, but my interest extends to all plants and animals--especially those found in California. I am grateful that I have been able to combine my interest with my career in an effort to improve outcomes for students.
