This juvenile could be either F. notatus or F.catenatus, the only Fundulus occurring in this watershed. Interesting are the vertical bars that neither spp of Fundulus possess as adults but are common to a number of other Fundulus species as adults..
The second photo is the same fish on October 10. You can see the vertical bars have almost disappeared. I now feel this is Fundulus catenatus.
