Descrição

Found swimming in a flooded road adjacent to the Okefenokee. Beached himself when the ruts shallowed up so I didn’t have to work too hard for this pic.

Very interesting to see how these creatures swim in the water and also how small they’ll shrink when you pick them up.

Descrição

After posting the pictures of the dragonfly, some dragonfly experts came by and explained what was actually going on. I came by a dragonfly half emerged from the ground and assumed it was emerging from being a larvae. After it got out, a spider came out of the hole which I thought was extremely odd and assumed it was a symbiotic relationship of sorts. Well I’m pretty sure I was wrong. They suggested this was the burrow of a trapdoor spider and it had pulled in the dragonfly. So I saved a dragonfly and starved a spider. Winners and losers?

Descrição

Was able to see a dragon fly emerge today. After it had emerged, I dug up the cocoon (or whatever it’s called) and there was a spider inside. Very odd, not sure if there’s a symbiotic relationship or something.

Loblolly bays are such massive trees, years ago someone tried to put a firebreak through the roots but they didn’t make it through.
