This grasshopper caught my eye clicking through the air in brief bursts of flight, showing a bright yellow on its wings. I could not photograph it in flight but it allowed me to as it rested.

This incredibly bright magenta shone like a hot coal in the debris of a rotting grand fir log. It appears to be a fungus. This is all I found of it.
