Followed this guy around for as long as he'd let me. Orange-red around his chin/face makes me think he's a male.

Angry munchin’ on some grass. Not too happy to be moved from the middle of the road. Ridges don’t look too pronounced as with an alligator snapping turtle but I could be mistaken.

I was leaving the park when we spotted this chick in the middle of the road (it presumably fell out of the nest). I got out of the car and herded it into some bushes only to realize a hawk had been watching the entire time. Hope he’s doing okay.

It was very difficult to get a decent shot of the gills without uprooting the mushroom, but they were decurrent. Approx 4 cm (1.5 in.) tall with the cap being ~6 cm (2.5 in.) in diameter. Found at the base of a tree.

Poor little guy was found with its wings crushed (it looks as if someone accidentally stepped on it). It was still kickin’ though, so we placed it on some tall grass out of the way of the footpath after the photos were taken.
