in very deep pine litter on or against a large decaying fallen or more likely felled pine. Seen after a month of first winter rains following prolonged severe drought. Was 2m W when observed previously, now about a metre's width is visible, with mostly flaccid fronds

dead or moribund, near a group of about a dozen plants, one of which has an inflorescence, photographed close up. (see Observation group) mostly in similar condition, some with some live leaves. These are presumed to be the same species, as the scattered Carex disita or lambertiana here is in good condition, and a similarly completely dead C. uncinata was observed 100m away on the Eastern ridge-top margin of this forest.

Death and partial death presumably due to prolonged severe drought. This observation after a month of moderate rainfall, the first in 6-9 months
