Isolated from decaying magnolia leaves sterilized and placed on PDA. Isolates transferred to CMA, PDA, and V8 agars. Lots of aerial hyphal growth and an abundance of conidiogenous hyphae on PDA and V8 agars. Little aerial growth on CMA with formation of appressoria type structures on the bottom of the plate. Conidia very melanized giving conidiogenous colonies very dark color.

Collection 3341-07; NOT 1401-07. Bruises black to the touch when cut takes a moment to turn black. Stipe is quite tough while cap is soft and fleshy. Was found in pine straw under a group of Cyprus trees near a man made brook.

Collection 3341-04 found in fine mulch and loose black soil roughly 2 feet from trunk of oak tree. When collecting, a yellow liquid was secreted from the hymenium staining my fingers.
