2 of them on one stalk, presumably mating. They separated, and then I saw 2 together flying off, but they may not have been the same pair since a third bee was also flitting about nearby (not shown).

We do not have elm or hackberry here in our yard, not sure about other host plants. Thus, this is an unusual butterfly for us. Gulf fritillaries, swallowtails, whites, and monarchs are more common as we have host plants for them, along with various bees, moths, wasps, flies, etc. This one may have just been passing through, though it was resting on the ground for a long time before flying off.

8 individuals observed in all over the course of 40 minutes. 1 buck, 2 fawns, the rest does. All eventually crossed from one side of the hiking to the other, with some coming within yards of the observer. Some ran across while others wernt at a leisurely pace. For the most part they crossed separately, with the exception of one buck, one fawn, and one doe, all of whom crossed at the same time. They were among the last to cross, with just one doe crossing after. The main behavior observed was grazing on tall grasses; however, the buck rubbed his antlers against the branches of shrubs a few times anf let out some low grunts. The fawn who crossed alone made some high-pitched sounds before doing so. That one was among the first to cross, possibly the very first. The deer did not seem affected by the comings and goings of many humans.

I am thinking most likely a spider with two legs missing, though it sure does move well if so. At first I did think there were three body segments, but I think I was mistaken. Found indoors.

Found in recycling bin. Wings appear dirty and ragged and are blown by the wind. Seems to be barely hanging onto life, unable to fly.
