Descrição

This protist was found in pond water. It is microscopic and brown. The shape is remotely circular, kind of clumpy. Protists are found in a variety of locations, especially in pond water. Protists are not confined to one geographic area and are ever present in many things we see in our daily lives. This particular slide was prepared by wet mount in a laboratory setting. It appears to have diatoms present.

Descrição

The kingdom of this organism is Plantae. The shape of this plant is symmetric, there are 6 petals in total. It is a monocot, this is known because its petals are in multiples of three. It was approximately one inch across for the flower and raised 5 to 6 inches from the ground by its vascular structure. The color of the flower is yellow with a green stem. Unfortunately, I did not capture reproductive structures in my photos. The characteristic that distinguishes this species is its fringed edges around its flower that other similar plants lack. The habitat for this organism is in wetland environments. It is geographically distributed on coastal plains in Florida, Alabama, and North Carolina. It is an angiosperm.
