Pinus clausaObservador
casanovagoatDescrição
Large sand pine trees, with ~3 inch needles (2 per fascicle) and tiny cones. There are some of the largest sand pines I've seen outside of state/national parks. Trunks are too tall to get good pictures, but needles and cones can be seen on the ground.

This tree is a hidden gem. With its flapping leaves, crenate margins, flat petiole, and deeply fissured bark, it is a stunningly gorgeous representation of the species. Although none of its branches are close enough to reach, this tree is definitely worth a visit.

Nogueira-Preta (Juglans nigra)Observador
casanovagoatDescrição
This tree is labeled as a Juglans nigra by UF. It has huge fragrant fruits, compound leaves, and serrated leaflet margins. Its branches are all too high to reach, but there are many fruits on the ground below. You can find this tree close to a park bench, with branches reaching over the sidewalk.
