I found this little (~2mm) beetle on the porch yesterday. I think it might be a flea beetle (Chrysomelidae: Alticini). It's quite a jumper. It nearly escaped by jumping out of the dish I had put it in.
The photo doesn't capture its stunning gold color.
A pair of Bewick's Wrens are checking out the woodpile in the backyard. Hope they'll decide to stay.
My grandson, Lander, spotted this one on the front porch.
I've seen many Seven-spotted Lady Beetles this year, no native species until today, when I saw two species: the two-spotted and convergent lady beetles. I found this two-spot on the front door.
This is the first Convergent Lady Beetle that I've seen this year. I found it on the side of the house.
The first dandelion flower of the year.
They are in the yard all year, but this is the first one I've photographed.
