Webster Conservation Area: October 15, 2019

Today, I took an uber out to the Webster Conservation Area after my flight. It was sunny and a tad bit chilly. I went by myself and explored the area. The area was beautiful as all the trees were beginning to change colors. While many of the trees looked similar from afar, I noticed that there was a good amount of variety and differences between the different trees as I got closer. This conservation area was really nice. There is definitely a lot more that I could have explored, but I was getting tired. It is a really nice conservation area that I would definitely recommend.

Edmand's Park: October 6, 2019

Today, I walked through the paths of Edmands Park, which is right behind the Newton Campus, where I live. I went by myself with some headphones. It was a little bit chilly with a little breeze and no sun. I really enjoyed this walk; it allowed me to take a step away from the monotony of school and just walk around nature for a little it. There were a lot of trees and small vegetation that grew around the pathway. I noticed that lots of the fungi or lichen grew near the base of trees or on dead logs. I found it really interesting how there are so many different types of fungi in such a small area. I would never have known had I not been looking for fungi.

Chestnut Hill Reservoir: September 13, 2019

I walked to the Reservoir after class today. It was sunny out, but also windy. I went with a friend of mine and just walked around the entire reservoir. It was very peaceful and calm. There were lots of vegetation near the water and around the trail. It was honestly really pretty. About halfway around the reservoir, there were flocks of geese, swans, and birds. That was really cool. and then coming back, I saw a family of about 6 turtles. I think that was the coolest part. The walk around the reservoir was really fun and I would definitely recommend it.
