Applications of Dryad's Saddle

Dryad's saddle (or Polyporus squamous) is a mushroom that often grows on dead hardwood trees during the spring and fall. The young fruiting body of dryad's saddle is tender and flavourful which makes it the perfect mushroom to cook with. Dryad's saddle is also extremely nutritious as these mushrooms are a good source of protein and contain vitamins B, C, and D. Additionally, this fungi has many medicinal applications. For instance, they can be used in antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and immuno-enhancing medicines (Elkhateeb et. al, 2020).

Red Clover on Mont-Royal

Red Clover, or Trifolium pratense, is an herbaceous species of flowering plant. This flower is a part of the Trifolium (or clover) genus and is in the Fabaceae family (or bean family). Moreover, red clover belongs to the Fabales order (meaning flowering plants) in the Rosids clade (“OneZoom Tree of Life Explorer”).
An adaptation that is present among all the observations made is the plant's ability to flower. This adaptation helps facilitate the reproduction of the plant by creating seeds and pollen.
Another adaptation that can be found in a few of the observations is bright-coloured petals. This adaptation helps attract pollinators like bees and birds which aid with further propagation (“A Wildflower Adaptation Study”).
