Not confident on ID. S/he somehow flew in the house when the door was open briefly. We caught her/him with a butterfly net and let her/him out. S/he paused on the net for a minute before flying off.
Weedy urban forest. Very common on slopes. The dominant privet in dry woods in this part of the park.
Gray-green leaves, highly aromatic when crushed; low, compact, shrubby habit. Flowers were spent but on spikes above foliage.
Wicked sandstone cliff. I’ve never seen this on sandstone before and never seen it in the Ouachitas either. M. tomentosa also present.
Scattered along harsh sandstone bluff/outcrop/spire. Marscescent (still holding leaves in late December).
