This lava heron was spotted on a hike to Playa Baquerizo down in some lava rocks. I believe it to be a male because of the black beak rather than silver. This species is endemic to the Galapagos.
This bird was seen walking around Puerto Baquerizo Moreno on San Cristobal, Galapagos.
These two galapagos hawks were seen on Española. They flew over head and landed on this outcropping for about 30 minutes. Galapagos female hawks mate with up to seven males who all assist with incubation.
