Quite a few juveniles on the reef but no large adults which is strange.
Common on outer rock shelf at low tide mark in surge zone. Associated with sparse patches of Durvillaea chathamensis and Lessonia tholiformis.
Many clumps floating high in the water column
This gut is the perfect place to be able to get up close to really study the D. antarctica as when the tide drops to nearly low the head of the gut becomes a little beach.
Note large adults and juveniles, depth c5m attached to rock wall.
Among rocks on muddy, low gradient flat.
Juvenile.
Two different plants in photos a few meters apart. Several seen on the tubeworm fields.
