After walking through Central tussock sedge swamp of Travis Wetland, I picked up a 'few' seeds on jacket, pants, socks ... too much!, in full seed; last picture the seeds picked out of jacket and pants in bottom of bucket - I estimate a thousand seeds attached to clothing in a 0.8km 1hr trudge .
Resting on shore until we happened along.
A new species for Yarrs. A worry. Controlled. Doesn't look like it's flowered before. Hopefully we've nipped it in the bud.
I somehow forgot to take a photo of it. But you can see the leaves in these photos cropped from a Myrsine photo.
A new species for Yarrs going off all the records I have looked at. Sapling about 1.5m. @denise-nz @jasonbutt @meurkc
This one is a bit smashed by a fallen grey willoe. Dbh would be about 65mm
Two saplings. About 600mm apart. Approx 8m tall with DBH of 60mm and 85mm. More griselinia nearby. Both would benefit from a canopy gap in the grey willow.
It was wonderful to see a roadside mikimiki and porcupine shrub fenced off.
