Descrição

Several units found in a small spot, along a narrow path. They were growing among moss, weeds and grass. The area seems like a section of an abandoned garden, inside an abandoned convent. Tallest units was about 15 cm tall. The stipe is reddish and scaly. They are very wet. Lots of rain here. Capillitial threads of various widths: 1.4-7.4 um; inflated at septa; with thick walls. There were other brown cells of irregular forms and some other long threads with thinner walls and septa. The flat scales on fibrose stipe are directed upwards. The cap was 1.5 cm wide. Stipe is cylindrical 5.5mm wide.

Descrição

Transparent crust. On decorticated oak. Mossy hardwoods. Although it gave a good white spore print, I couldn't see one single basidium with sterigmata, only basidioles. All cells have basal clamp. The size of the spores and the cystidia type match it. Lots of dendrohyphidia present. When dry is ceraceous and transparent with a pink hue. Nodulose subhymenial hyphae 1.4-2.9 um wide. Cystidia 4.9-6.1 x 51-86.4 um.

Descrição

Single; hanging from a blade of moss! Cap is 4.5mm and of cottony aspect. It doesn't have a real stipe but a space between the round edges of the hairy cap folding inwardly. It has 16 thick gills. After dried, it revealed a short stipe. Cottony cap is made of curled hyphae with clamps. Cystidia on edge of gill have odd shapes. I was able to see only few free: 4.9-7.9 x 32-45.6 um. It gave a white spore print. Perhaps C. carpaticus/cristatus. They are considered synonyms these days. Another suggestion C. cesatii.

Clamps are present everywhere. Examined cap was 7mm; stipe 2.2 cm. Cap has minute brown scales or spots but micro didn't reveal anything special. Gills are decurrent and some connect laterally. Spore print is white. Stipe base seems to burst through the bark. Mossy hardwoods.

Single and tiny. On bare soil. Side of path. Mossy woods. Basidiophore was 1 cm tall. The head had two round lobes. Pure white overall and a bit creamy towards tip. Only basidia are present. Basidium has an upside down 'V' form BUT one leg is shorter than the other. Three spores were seen with long spikes (1.2 um long). Spores 5.4-6.1 x 7.9-9.3 um. The consistency of the fungus is gelatinous so this made its observation hard in the microscope.

Parasitic fungus growing on a gilled one. It deformed the whole mushroom and its microscopic characters. Basidia have all sort of deformations on the cell and on the number of sterigmata. Basidia were producing spores! Clamps are present on host and also cystidia. The whole fungus is hard and feels rubbery and flexible. It has an extraordinary sweet fungal smell that feels a bit intoxicant. The infecting fungus emptied the flesh inside the cap. Fungus is around 13 cm tall. Single. On the ground. Under hardwoods. Super tiny; with few gills; hairy base of stem. On mossy hardwood. Biggest unit was examined: cap 3mm; stipe 6mm. Perhaps M. pseudolactea which has long capitate cystidia as this one does. It also has other type of cystidia. The gills are decurrent. I just noticed the presence of some gelatinous matter oozing in the preparation. It can also be seen as drops on stem and edge of gill. On the edge of the gills round masses appear here and there, under the microscope. Melzers turned negative as expected for Hemimycena sp.
