Host is Solidago rugosa I think? Not sure if this is herbicide damage or a gall.

Goldenrod at the edge of the woods.

I have photos at the end of the slide showcasing how I initially found the flowers positioned before moving them to get a better look.

Ovipositing

Fantastic linear gall on Gutierrezia sarothrae flower head! Ridged surface, pinkish coloration.

Some goldenrod gall or maybe witches broom type growth? Two plants had it. I think it's Solidago rugoso.
