Unsure on ID.
Large leech found among mud in a blocked creek channel. The leech is about 2 inches long but can extend double of that, or even slightly longer. A predatory species; was not interested in blood but happily slurped down an earthworm that was offered.

Skull collected from a desiccated corpse dropped by a pair of barn owls whilst feeding chicks. Many other myomorph mummies recovered from the same spot.
Skull was cleaned via rehydration, oxidation, and very gentle hand-removal of remaining tissues. Last photo shows the pre-cleaned individual. Note the hystricomorphous infraorbital foramina and grooved maxillary incisors.

Not much I could do, left it where I found it hoping the parents would either continue their care or predation would naturally ensue.

Early morning in the Temple of Hathor at Dendera Temple Complex, ascended the west staircase which winds around in a spiral to the roof and is dimly lit save for small window openings. This bat was on the wall and initially disturbed by me and flew out of sight further up the staircase. I followed and found it again resting on a scarab-shaped relief, where it remained as I carefully photographed it closer and closer. It flew off again descending the staircase and I was able to locate it on the main floor of the temple in a very dark, deep crack in the wall. I took a few more photos and it seemed rather irritated with me pursuing it so intently, so I finally left it alone. Its photo was included in the publication "Egypt’s Flora & Fauna; An AUC Press Nature Foldout" by American University in Cairo Press, with author Dominique Navarro and Scientific Consultant Richard Hoath, whose book "Mammals of Egypt" I used to identify this small, long-tailed bat.

The tail bicoloration was extremely faint and doesn’t show up on the photos super well. The large gray-lined ears (granted hard to see since they’re folded), large eyes, countershading, and overall facial structure fit that of P. sonoriensis vs other locally occurring mice.
