In order to show the stages of this plant, I've chosen photos that show the flowers which appear before the leaves and then one with the leaves. It is a plant found in many different locations throughout the park.
Notice the 90* angles of the branching; the reason for the common name, Elbow-bush.
Also, the flowers are one of the first to appear in spring, often in late winter; the reason for the common name, Spring-herald.
